Even the humble doormat can be modernised, and a London firm claims that its latest wiper-mat “marks the first great advance for many years in mat design.” The standard feature of all the company’s mats is a rubber well which collects the dirt scraped from the feet and which can be easily emptied without sweeping or raising dust: the improved wiper-mat is as hard-wearing as its predecessors but it is also soft to stand on and suitable for use either outside or inside the building.
