AT HUTT PARK TOMORROW

GENERAL SANDY MAY WIN BRAHMAN’S PROSPECTS HIGHLY REGARDED General Sandy, runner-up to Thelma Globe in the Recovery Handicap at Forbury Park on October 15, will - probably be favourite for the National Handicap, the first leg of the double on the opening day of the Wellington Trotting Club’s meeting at Hutt Park tomorrow. The Sandydale stallion was most impressive at Forbury Park, and it is expected that Itp will be an even better horse at Hutt Park, where he won at his three starts at the winter meeting last June. Brahman has been rather disappointing in his most recent appearances, but the grass track at Hutt Park should favour him. He has drawn the outside of,the horses on 12 yards, and this should enable him to begin more smoothly than in some of his races when he has started among a number of horses. It will not surprise if he gains an overdue win. Rowan Star paced a fine race for second to Johnny Globe at Epsom on Monday, and, if she has trained on satisfactorily, she will have bright prospects. She has paced several fine races in good sprint company, and she should earn at least some of the stake. Scottish Star finished third in his two starts over one mile and five furlongs at Epsom last week-end, and these placings entitle him to respect. Ohio paced two good races at Forbury Park, and in this small field he will have a chance of reaching a place. Interest will be taken in the performance of a New Zealand Cup candidate, Poranui. which will be hard to beat if forward enough. Gay Lyric, Sisley Wood, and Chandelier, the other starters, are capable sprinters, but they should be safely held by General Sandy, Brahman, and Rowan Star. Selections are:— 11 a.m.—Suburban Handicap: Bellbright, Fifth Brigade, Mercury Light. •11.45 a.m.—Miramar Handicap:.
