SPECIAL TIES FOR R.N.Z.A.F.

AIR BOARD APPROVAL (New Zealand Press Association > WELLINGTON. October 21. •The Royal New Zealand Air Force is to have its own special ties. Until now most R.N.Z.A.F. and former P..N.Z.A.F. officers and men have worn the Roval Air Force’s “all-ranks” tie. R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters, Wellington, announced today that the Air Board has approved the adoption of official R.N.Z.A.F. ties. A small experimental shipment of the ties has reached New Zealand from Britain, but these ties so far can be worn only by regular members of the R.N.Z.A.F. However, when further orders are placed, the new ties may be available for non-regular personnel. There are two ties—one for officers and one for all ranks. The officers’ tie has a dark blue background and is patterned in golden Air Force albatrosses over New Zealand fern leaves.

The all-ranks tie has a blue background with thin, diagonal red and light blue stripes.
