N.Z. INDUSTRIES FAIR
PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR
The Australian Government may be represented at the New Zealand Industries Fair to be held in Christchurch from April 27 to May 19 next year. Australia had a section at the recent fair in Wellington but has not been represented in Christchurch. The secretary-manager of the fair (Mr R. T. Alston) said yesterday that talks would be held on the matter with the Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand (Mr W. R. Hudspeth) shortly.
Outlining plans for the fair, Mr Alston said the same building as last year, in Ferry road would be used but there would be more ground space. It was also hoped to have an entrance from Moorhouse avenue. The Government would be asked to have a court
featuring, in particular, Kawerau. A heavy machinery, section will be built out-of-doors and it will include earth moving equipment, A marquee will be erected for television shows.
