“Wall Of Death” Rider Injured
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, August 29. Peter Catchpoole, aged 25. a “wall of death” rider, was injured last night when a back wheel skid during a performance at New Brighton, Cheshire, sent his machine hurtling from the top of the wall at 40 m.p.h. He was taken to hospital with a broken arm and face injuries.
Catchpoole, who has been a “wall of death” rider for several years since being discharged from the Royal Air Force with “bad nerves,” once toured Australia.
