600-MILE TOUR OF TASMANIA (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) HOBART, August 11. The New Zealander, F. Newstroski, raced well in the second stage of the professional 600-mile tour of Tasmania to win the Campbelltown sprint. The leaders in the race, which began on Tuesday and finishes on 6 Saturday, are the Australian professional road champion, Eddie Smith in first place, 3min 48sec ahead of lan Greenfield, Scotland, with Angelo Catalano, Italy, only 20sec further behind, third. Another Italian, Mario Giramonda, staged a brilliant solo effort leading the field of 31 riders for 45 miles of yesterday’s 134 miles and winning two sprints and “King of the Mountain” honours.
