GREYHOUND RACING AT PREBBLETON
A greyhound race for the Muir Memorial Cup all-aged stake was held by the Malvern Greyhound Racing Club at Prebbleton recently. Results were:— First heat: Black Velvet 1, King Shannon 2, Malvern Belle 3; time, 29 l-ssec. Second heat: Perfect Kid 1, Black Light 2, Whosemedad 3; time, 28sec. Third heat: Dusky Cinders 1. Black Fella 2, Black Main 3; time, 28 l-ssec. Fourth heat: Golden Imp 1, Shannons Ways 2, Bubble Gum 3; time, 28 3-ssec. Fifth heat: Lord Rocca 1, Jackie Dean 2, Blue Spec 3; time, 28 2-ssec. Final: E. Gray and E. Grimes' Dusky Cinders 1, A. and D. Flutey’s Black Velvet 2, E. Gray and E. Grimes’ Golden Imp 3; time, 28sec. Other results were: — All Aged Plate.—H. Record High Tide.—On July 20 there was a record high tide at Lyttelton, it was reported to the Lyttelton Harbour Board on Wednesday. On July 19, Bft 6in was recorded above zero on the automatic tide gauge, and on July 20, Oft. Some damage was caused to the reclamation retaining wall at H.M.N.Z.S. Tasman, but it had been repaired.
