Three Minor Fires.—There were three minor fires yesterday in ChristchurchAt 4.23 pjn the New Brighton unit of the Christchurch Fire Brigade answered a call to an oven fire in the. dwelling of Mr D. N. Le Comte, 144 Beach road. New Brighton. A chimney fire, in the dwelling of Mr H. Raphael, ’33 Leinster road, was put out by the St. Albans unit at 6.10 pin. A fire on the foreshore, near Bowhill road, believed to have been started when children were playing with matches, was reported at 6.59 p.m. This was put out by New Brighton and Central Station Units.
