TABLE TENNIS
PLAY IN CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Canterbury table tennis championships -were continued last evening when the men’s singles matches in the bottom half of the draw were played. There were no unexpected results. V. N. Brightwell and J. Armstrong will meet in a semifinal match on the final night. Results were:— Men’s Singles First Round.—J. Armstrong beat R. A. Gray. 21-13. 21-9. 21-9; T. Humphries beat N. W. McGillivray t 18-21, 21-177 21-15, 2116; T. Gillard beat B. de Ganneh, 21-16, 21-11, 21-8; N. C. O’Brien beat B. Smith, 21-23, 21-18, 21-19, 21-14. Second Round.—J. Armstrong beat T.
