APPEAL BY RHEE
Violence Used In Demonstrations (Rec. 11 p.m.) SEOUL. August 10. The South Korean President. Dr. Syngman Rhee, today appealed to his South Korean people to refrain from adopting violence when demonstrating in support of the government’s “get out” ultimatum to the Neutral Nations Sunervisory Commission. Throu«h his official spokesman. Dr. Karl Hong Kee, Dr. Rhee said: “Peaceful demonstration is the normal way of expressing national desires throughout our history.” The appeal was issued after a< former United States Congressman, Mr O. K. Armstrong, had talked to Dr. Rhee for one hour and 3Q minutes. Earlier the South Korean Government in an official statement declared
that the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission was infiltrated by high ranking Russian officers. In a statement issued by the Office of Public Information, the government said that Soviet Russia had infiltrated high ranking officers into the commission to pull the strings behind the, £zech and Polish members. “Czech and Polish members, under the control of disguised Russian officers, seized opportunity to spy on the United Nations and the Republic of Korea to obtain military secrets,” said the statement, which also accused Communist members of the commission of “illegal photograph propaganda agitation activites, and other espionage action.”
