Egypt’s Leader To Visit Soviet
CAIRO, August 9. The Egyptian Prime Minister (Lieutenant-Colonel Gamal Abdel Nasser) today accepted an invitation to visit the Soviet Union. The Director of Political Affairs in the Prime Minister’s office said today that the visit is expected to take place next spring.
The invitation to visit Moscow was conveyed by the Soviet Ambassador (Mr Afazr Iddomlod) when he saw Colonel Nasser earlier today. In London, diplomatic quarters saw the Soviet invitation to the Egyptian, Prime Minister as more evidence of Russia’s intention to establish closer contact with Middle East governments. The invitation to Colonel Nasser follows the acceptance by the Shah of Persia of an invitation to visit Moscow soon. >
