SELWYN COUNTY ROADS

Sir, —May J, through your columns, draw the attention of the Selwyn County Council to the state of the roads in the Mead-Te’ Pirita area. These are a disgrace to any county, and I am sure the ratepayers would like to know where the rates go. Rates have more than trebled in the last 12-odd years and roads have deteriorated to a greater extent.—Yours, etc., POT-HOLE DODGER. Rakaia. July 29, 1955. [The clerk to the Selwyn County Council, to whom this letter was referred, offered no comment.]
