LONDON’S POLICE
Sir, —It was with great interest that I heard Sir Harold Scott speak over the air last night, regarding the London police. I can fondly remember my late father taking me for a world’s tour in the year 1924, and especially our stay in London. I shall always remember the famous London police on the beat, who were al\vays so willing to help anyone trying to cross the streets; and one had only to ask a London policeman’s help to find an address of some place to be greatly helped and shown. The manner in trying to help was a credit to the uniform they wore. Seeing them carrying a child in each arm across a street was a worthy sight to watch. I sincerely trust Sir Harold Scott will enjoy his stay in New Zealand, and will take away with him pleasant thoughts Of our country.—Yours, etc., PROUD NEW ZEALANDER. June 17, 1955.
