U.S. planes leave FOR TOKYO
SUPERFORTRESS tanker AND GIiOBEMASTER (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 2. After a crew had laboured for nearly two days to make her airworthy, a United states Air Force Superfortress tanfc e r, which reached Whenuapai on Nionday with one engine out of coim m i ss i on> took off for Brisbane just; before 9 a.m. today. Half an hour hater, the attendant Globemaster transport, carrying repair equipment and ground crew, left Whenuapai, and : “Operation Handclasp” was over. . The Superfortresjs did not make a test flight. ' The two aircraft left' on the first stage of their back to Tokyo 24 hours after the w es t of the nineplane mission. >
