ACCIDENTS
ELDERLY MAN DIES OF INJURIES KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. April 19. i A man died in the Middlemore, Hospital tonight after being knocked down by a car on the Great South road about half a mile south of the Papatoetoe School at 7 p.m. He was John Lowry Murdoch, aged 70, of 45 Burn street, Milton. Mr Murdoch had come to Auckland to visit friends at Wiri.
About 10 minutes after the accident, another motorist turned his car over while swerving to avoid the crowd which had gathered. The driver was not injured.
