COMMUNIST PIONEERS
Sir, —Answering “Soldier’s” letter, “Communism” is a word going back to the Marx “League of Communists,” 1848, and to the “Communist manifesto” of Marx and Engels. The name “communist” was adopted in Russia under the leadership of Lenin as a change from the word “Bolshevik.” I did not suggest that all Jews were Communists, certainly not Christ or Mary.—Yours, etc., OBADIAH. April 18, 1955.
