BY-ELECTION IN BRITAIN
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. The Government yesterday easily won a Parliamentary by-election at Sutton and Cheam, a south-west London suburb, in a straight contest with the Labour Party.
Results: Richard Sharpies (Conservative), 21,930; Norman Poulter (Labour), 11,023; Conservative majority. 10,907.
