MANAWATU BEATS HAWKE’S BAY
(New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Aug. 29. In a fast and open game, the Manawatu Rugby representatives beat Hawke's Bay, 2S-18, at Palmerston North on Saturday. Manawatu led 14-6 at half-time, after
being assisted by toe wind. Hawke’s Bay failed to make the moat of the wind in the second half. For Manawatu. tries were scored by J. Gleeson (2), J. -Shaw, D. Grady, J. Johnstone, and C. Wilson. - Ci Rautahi kicked two conversions and a penalty goal. For Hawke's Bay, J. Sharlih, D. Motley, W. Hargreaves, and. W. Cowper scored tries. Motley kicked two penalty goals.
