SOUTHLAND BEATS OTAGO, 22-8
(New Zealand Frees Association) INVERCARGILL, August 29. The Southland Rugby representatives beat Otego by 22 points to 8 at Rugby Park, Invercargill, 'yesterday. Southland also beat Otago at Dunedin three weeks 3g ln spite of a heavy ground and a strong westerly wind, yesterday’s game was spectacular. Southland, with the wind m its favour, scored 16 points to the first Four Southland tries were scored by R. W. Gilson, I. M. Miller, A. McMeekan, and J. Smith. E. S. Diack converted two tries and kicked two penalty goals. . The Otago points came from a try by J. N. Keegan, converted by W. C. Wfison, and a penalty goal by L. T. Kovaleski.
