(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. Rain seriously interfered with county cricket matches today. In the match between Leicestershire and Lancashire, neither side batted. Nottinghamshire did not bat against Yorkshire, which scored 302 for five wickets in the first innings (Hutton not out 149). Other results were:— Worcestershire 166 (McMahon five for 32) and 100 for two declared beat Somerset 68 (Perks seven for 34) and 79 by 119 runs. Hampshire 137 for five declared drew with Essex 111 for eight. Surrey 193 for five declared drew with Middlesex 51. Northamptonshire 104 and 56 for no wickets drew with Derbyshire 132. Kent 232 for six declared drew with Sussex 61 for two wickets.

PAKISTAN DRAWS WITH GLOUCESTER (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. The match between Pakistan and Gloucestershire ended today in a tame draw after Pakistan had struggled on a soft wicket against both spin and fast bowling. In reply to the county’s total of 143 for nine declared, Pakistan, in their first innings, made 176. Waqar Hassan reached his 1000 runs for the season in making 35. Bowling for Gloucestershire, Wells took four for 56. Gloucestershire, in their second innings, scored 42 for two.
