Quail Island.— The Riccarton Borough Council decided on Monday to take no further action about a proposal to develop Quail Island in Lyttelton harbour as a picnic ground until it has information about the costs that will be involved. “It is only a case of . what it is going to cost us,” said Cr. V. G. Spiller. According to a letter from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr T. W. Preston, a conference ot local bodies is planned to discuss the project.
