Statistics For World Population
. , . PARIS, July 16. The population of the world has more than doubled in the last century and is increasing by 30,000.000 a year, according to figures published today in the National Statistics Office in Paris. There are 2,500,000,000 people in the world today, compared with about 1,160,000,000 in 1850. The world population 300 years ago was about 500,000,000—a fifth of the population today.
