Press Conference At Palace Cancelled
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, July 17 A press conference scheduled for Monday at Buckingham Palace to hear about the Duke of Edinburgh’s talks with employers and trade union leaders on the social responsibility of industry, was cancelled last night without explanation. The Industrial Welfare Society, of which the Duke is patron, said that instead of the press conference a communique would be issued. The Palace talks are Jo plan for a conference in two years time of men and women between 25 and 40 years of age from the Commonwealth and Empire who “hold or are destined for positions of responsibility in industry and commerce.”
