EXTENSION OF BUS ROUTE
BOARD DECLINES REQUEST FOR SERVICE The Christchurch Transport Board has declined a request for an extension of the Lincoln road bus route along Hoon Hay road to Cashmere road to provide services for residents of the Sparks road-Cashmere road area. The -board, meeting as 4he finance committee, made this decision which was confirmed on Friday in open meeting. “The state of the road from Sparks road to Cashmere road would not allow such a course, and this was not the logical route to extend to serve Cashmere road,” said the committee’s report. was decided, however, to extend the Somerfield route some 440 yards along Rose street to the junction of Hoon Hay road, provided the Halswell County seals the intersection. It is proposed that when the building development increases in and around Cashmere road to extend in the direction of Cashmere road.”
