FIRST LOSS OF TOUR (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright)
LONDON, June 2. The New Zealand women cricketers had the first loss of their tour against Yorkshire at Scarborough today. The New Zealand captain, R. McKenzie, declared three hours before the end of play in the one-day match at six for 185. To force a win Yorkshire hit out and passed the New Zealand score with only foui' wickets down. The star was P. Blackler (New Zealand) who was 103 not out when the innings closed. Her century included 14 fours. Scores were: New Zealand six for 185 declared (Blackler not out 103, R. McKenzie 40). Yorkshire four for 188 (I. Lamason two for 56).
