STRATFORD GARDEN CLUB
On the suggestion of Mrs W. A. McAlister, the retiring president, it was decided to make a donation of 20 guineas to the Canterbury Horticulture Society at the annual meeting of the Stratford Garden Club yesterday. Competitions for the day resulted as follows: —spray of winter berries, class A: Mrs E. F. Ward 1. Mrs A. H. Weir 2, Mrs H. S. Feast 3. Class B: Mrs Moray Smith 1, G. Louisson 2, Mrs I B. Cromb 3. Best bloom: Mrs R. Simmers 1, I. E. Sewell 2, A. G. Flower 3. Prizes for yearly competitions, presented by Mrs G. C. T. Burns, were awarded as follows:—decorative, class A: Mrs E. F. Ward 1, Mrs H. S. Feast 2. Class B: Mrs G. Louisson 1. Mrs J. Sinclair 2. Best bloom: Mrs H. S. Feast 1, Mrs I. E. Sewell 2, Mrs Roger Ballantyne 3. Cut flowers: Mrs A. H. Weir 1. Mrs I. B. Cromb 2. Officers were elected as follows: president, Miss Betty Webb; vicepresidents, Mesdames J. H. Voice and H. M. Watson; secretary, Mrs R. Simmers; treasurer, Mrs E. Cleland; committee, Mesdames A. McCurdy, A. H. Weir, G. Louisson. and W. A. McAlister.
