N.Z. ASSOCIATION’S DECISION ON COXSWAIN (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. November 9. Delegates to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association were generally agreed that New Zealand must come Into line with overseas practice and use 7st coxswains in senior four-oared races. It was pointed out, however, that all clubs would have to buy special boats to carry a 7st coxswain. Although the rule was finally amended, it is not to operate before October 1, 1956.
