SCOTTISH PEOPLE’S GOOD WISHES

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, November 8. The good wishes of the people of Edinburgh and of Scotland for the Queen’s forthcoming Commonwealth tour were conveyed to the Duke of Edinburgh by the Lord Provost (Sir James Miller) at a civic lunch in Edinburgh at which the Duke was the guest of honour before he opened the Scottish Central Library. “We know the pleasure and happiness you bring with you when you come to Scotland.” said the Lord Provost. “Almost always even the sun shines, and on the last occasion Edinburgh town councillors burst forth into spontaneous song. “We can imagine how such pleasure and happiness will be even greater when you arrive at countries which no reigning monarch has ever visited,” said the Lord Provost. “The good wishes of all loyal subjects will go with you on your tour, and from nowhere more sincerely than from ScotI land ”
