PERSIAN OIL DISPUTE
“EVERY HOPE OF SOLUTION ”
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 7. There was every hope of a solution of the Persian oil problem, Mr Eisen.special oil envoy, Mr Herbert Hoover, jun., said tonight before leaving by air for Washington. He said that the talks on oil problems with the Foreign Secretary (Mr Eden) had been “most cordial and helpful.” However, no immediate developments in the British and Persian dispute need be expected, Mr Hoover added, but this was not necessarily a discouragement, because the matter had been going on so long already. Mr Hoover is expected to return to Europe shortly for further talks with the British and Persian authorities after conferring with Mr Eisenhower
