LOCOMOTIVE LEAVES RAILS

FALL DOWN 20-FOOT BANK (New Zealand. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 6. A railway engine travelling from Marton to Taihape left the rails about half a mile south of the Mangaweka railway station, on the Main Trunk line, at 9.15 p.m. today. The engine toppled down a 20-foot bank, taking with it a pole carrying railway telegraph wires. An ambulance was sent from Taihape to take the driver and fireman to the Taihape Hospital. It is understood that neither was seriously injured.

No delays to other main line traffic re reported.
