CHRISTCHURCH TEAM WINS DEBATE A Christchurcn team has won a debating contest held under the auspices of the Institute of Public Administration. In the final debate in Wellington the Christchurch branch team beat Auckland by 279 points to 273. The judge was Dr. G. A. Currie, Vice-Chan-cellor of the University of New Zealand. The Christchurch team, consisting of Messrs A. T. Brown. C. Lake and M. Connolly, took the negative side of the subject, “that the Government needs an administrative board of manage-* ment to assist Cabinet.” Sir Matthew Oram, who acted as chairman for the debate, presented the J. H. Boyes Cup to the leader of the Christchurch team.
