SUNDAY NIGHT SERVICES

Sir, —Your correspondent I. Campbell has the wrong story. The “fantastic imaginings,” are a reality that stand the test of the closest scientific investigation. No fewer than 70,000 people witnessed the Miracle. Many of them are alive today. The Miracle of Fatima ocCured on October 13, 1917. It is interesting to note that on that very morning an ironical article on the apparitions of Fatima appeared in the Lisbon daily paper “O Sesculo.” However, at noon that day the writer of that mocking article saw the solar prodigy, and on Monday, the 15th, a new article from his pen described the phenomenon as miraculous. He also had been a doubting Thomas. The Miracle was of course permitted by God to draw attention to the message of Fatima, which was a call from the Blessed Virgin to people to pray and to repent and do penance for their sins.—Yours, etc., AVE MARIA. November 6, 1953. [“Rosary” may briefly reply; otherwise, this correspondence is closed.—Ed„ “The Press.”]
