WAR PENSIONS

Sir, —So Mr Holland has refused the most reasonable request of the Returned Services’ Association for a small increase in war pensions. Surely it is little enough to ask of the country for which they fought and were injured, but neither National (nor would Labour) have enough common sense to grant this pension and get it from the Reserve Bank without cost, as they are both advocates of borrowing and taxing us all to pay the interest. Only a social credit government could give the increase without quibble, and it would make it 20s if asked. If the Returned Services’ Assoication would really like to get the advance, why on earth does it not give the social crediters a hand, as that is the only way they can get real results.—Yours, F. W. STEVENS. November 6, 1953.
