FARM CONTRACTORS’ ASSOCIATION

CANTERBURY BRANCH FORMED

A Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Earth-moving and Agricultural Contractors’ Association was formed in Christchurch on Friday evening. > The following officers were elected: executive committee, Messrs L. E. A. Farrier (chairman), N. Isaac, J. Owers, T. E. Elliott, S. A. Uren, Ryan brothers; delegate to Dominion council, Mr L. E. A. Farrier; secretary, Mr J. S. Haywood.

The district of the branch wilT extend from Kaikoura to Timaru. The Association has about 600 members throughout New Zealand and is chiefly concerned with the operation of bulldozers, excavators, carryalls, tractors, graders and other heavy earth-moving and rock-moving machinery. Members are also concerned with the operation of heavy transporters in the carriage of machinery and equipment.
