SOVIET AID TO NORTH KOREA
K-lec. 11.40 p.m.) MOSCOW, Sept. 20. Russia today announced that she had given war-ravaged North Korea equipment and material for the restoration and reconstruction of the nation.
A communique said Russia had also given North Koreans technical assistance as well as the grant of 1,000,000,000 roubles (nearly £91,000,000) announced by Mr Malenkov last month. The negotiations were conducted between a North Korean delegation headed by the Premier (Mr Kim II Sang) and the Soviet leaders, headed by Mr Malenkov.
The communique said Russia had agreed to postpone the repayment of credits previously granted by Russia to North Korea. is planned to send supplies of consumer goods to North Korea.
