RATES REMITTED
DECISION OF WAIMAIRI COUNCIL Remission of rates was given to the Brookland Community Centre and the Harewood Social Hall Committee by the Waimairi County Council last evening. The Harewood application for remission of rates from 1952 to 1954. The committee said it had only meagre funds, and was endeavouring, by working bees, to renovate and tidy the hall ana grounds. The council decided to make a grant of £lO to the committee, a similar grant to the Papanui Domain Board. Grants also made were: Burwood Bowling Club £25, Burwood Library committee £l5. BurwoocLCricket Club £lO.
