MOTOR DRIVERS’ LICENCES
RENEWAL BY POST PROPOSED
Motorists holding drivers! licences issued by the Christchurch City Council may. be able to renew them next month by postal applications if they choose. A scheme for renewals by post has been adopted by the Auckland City Council, and when details of it were referred to the chairman of the Christchurch City Council’s traffic committee (Cr. N. R. Forbes) last evening, he said that the council was considering adopting a similar method of renewing licences. In Auckland the Superintendent of Traffic (Mr C, Bland) has announced that motorists may renew their licences if they choose by postal applications to the traffic department. Those using the post must enclose their current licence with a 5s postal note and a stamped and addressed envelope for return of the licence.
