EARLY ELECTION FORECAST
MR J. MATHISON’S VIEW (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 11. Mr J. Mathison, Labour member of Parliament for Avon, today forecast an early election—in March or April next year. He said that he thought the National Government would decide on this in view of the enhanced prestige after the Royal visit, to obviate the necessity of presenting a pre-election Budget, and to take advantage of the Christmas bonus of £lO to pensioners. Mr Mathison said that Parliament should run the full term, which will end in September of next year. Mr Mathison is addressing meetings in Auckland and parts of Northland.
