LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
PROVINCIAL COMMITTEE MEETING The first meeting for the year of the Canterbury provincial committee of the League of Mothers was held in the Y.W.C.A. rooms, Christchurch. Mrs W. Grant (provincial president) welcomed branch representatives, including officers from Ashburton and Timaru. Mrs Grant outlined the activities for the year and announced that a meeting of the Dominion council would be held in Christchurch in September It was decided to hold a combined church service in April. Reports were presented by members of the executive and branch presidents. Mrs H. C. L. Pruden was elected an assistant provincial secretary. It was reported that plans for opening a new branch at Sockburn were well in hand. Members of the New Brighton branch were hostesses.
