WOOL SALE AT GEELONG
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 1.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 7. Comebacks and crossbreds were in sellers’ favour at the Geelong wool sales today, and all Merinos were fully firm on last week’s closing rates at Melbourne.
There was a total clearance of the 10,400 bales offered. The market was buoyant, the main buyers being the Continent, Japan and Britain. The selection was 70 per cent. Merino and 30 per cent, comeback. Top prices were: greasy Merino 64/ 90’s, 127 d; crossbred combing good to super 60’s, lOOd; good to super 56’s, 86Jd; good 50’s, 68d.
