A WEATHER FORECAST

Sir,—l would like a few words in reply to “Heavy Loser” of shorn hoggets in the recent snowstorm, I have all sympathy with his losses, but there is a sign, time and place for everything, and September is not December. In this hand-out age of false security we are fast losing our individual responsibility. This world is our university and can give some hard lessons when we put material gain before mercy and justice. Who would discard h’is winter underwear in September, sleep in the shelter of a standard and wire fence, and then blame the weather man for a cold on the kidneys? Man is given dominion over the animals, but he should use it justly.—Yurs, etc., INASMUCH. October 6, 1952.
