BRITISH VESSEL DETAINED
LONDON, September 8. A Chinese Nationalist gunboat has detained the 1929-ton British steamer Admiral Hardy, which was on a voyage from Shanghai to Foochow in South China, Lloyd’s agents at Hong ‘he gunboat fired on the Admiral Hardy and escorted the ship to Mateu Island north of the mouth of th* Fdochbw river, in Fukien Province. The city of Foochow is about 35 miles from the river mouth.
