TROTTING RACE RESULT

RECENT INCIDENT AT FORBURY

STEWARDS ASK JUDGE TO RESIGN

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, February 21. The stewards of the Forbury Park Trotting Club to-night decided to ask the judge at the club’s meeting on January 26 (Mr J. Stevens) for his resignation. In the Forbury Free-for-all run on that day Mr Stevens placed Veaette second and Dragoman third after consulting a photograph. Later, however, it was found that these placings were incorrect, and that Dragoman should have been second and Vedette third. The limit of time for changing the placings had expired, however, and th" judge’s placings had to stand. The position was discussed in committee at a meeting of the Forbury Park stewards to-night, and it was decided to pay H. I. Herbert, the owner of Dragoman, the extra £l5O he would have won if his horse had been correctly placed, and to ask the judge for his resignation.
