WINTER KIT ISSUED
BRITISH DIVISION EQUIPPED TOKYO, January 17. Major-General A. J. H. Cassels said to-day that every man in his British Commonwealth Division now had winter clothing designed for this year and equal to or better than that provided for the other United Nations troops. Enough winter clothing had been issued to the division, but some sizes had been wrong. "If we had a division of small men we would have had enough clothes for twice the number,” he said. The British commander thanked the Canadian forces for their help to the British troops. He said that the Commonwealth troops in Korea were “belly to belly” with the Chinese Communists, neither side giving an inch. The Commonwealth Division was fully equipped with what he considered the best available equipment. The troops were fit and keen and were prepared for anything.
