JET AIRCRAFT BATTLES
(Rec. 12.40 a.m.) TOKYO, Sept. 27 American and Communist jet fighters fought over north-west Korea for the third successive day . to-day. Thirty-four American Sabre jets attacked about 50 Communist MIG jets. American pilots claimed to have damaged two enemy planes, and one American fighter was damaged. The sth Air Force announced that one American Sabre jet was shot down and one Australian Meteor jet damaged yesterday in the clash between 256 Allied and Communist fighters. Earlier the Allies claimed two enemy jets destroyed and 12 damaged.
