REPARATIONS BY JAPAN

(Rec. 11 p.m.) TOKYO, September 15. The Japanese Minister of Finance (Mr Hayato Ikeda) said to-day that Japan would conduct negotiations on reparations payments with all of the claimant nations in accordance with the provisions of the Peace Treaty. Mr Ikeda said it was impossible to tell' at present exactly how much of the claimed reparations Japan could pay but Japan would pay as much as she could financially afford.
