LONDON. August 31. Rain seriously interfered with the last full round of county cricket matches for the season, and all games were drawn. Results:—
Surrey.—First Innings 127 (Weeks four for 40); second innings 56 for five. Warwickshire—First .nnings 61 for nine declared (A. Bedser four for 35, Laker five for 20).
Northamptonshire.—First innings 174 (Oakman five for 62); second innings, 118 for two. Sussex—first innings 178 for eight declared (Nutter six for 52).
Hampshire—First Innings 133 (R. Smith five for 51); second innings 109 for nine declared (Bailey six for 40). Essex—First innings 107 (Knott six for 26); second innings 80 for six (Cannings four for 23). Gloucestershire—First innings 101 (Wardle six for 18). Yorkshire—First innings 192 for three (Hutton 110 not out).
Lancashire—First innings 163 (Place 77; Sperry six for 22); second innings 91. Leicestershire—First innings 228 (Tomkin 94) • second innings 5 for 1. Somerset—First innings 210 (Gimblett 108; Jenkins six for 88). Worcestershire—First innings 211 for five (Broadbent 80).
