WARNING GIVEN U.S. SENATE
WASHINGTON, August 31. Russia was 80 per cent, mobilised and might not wait for full mobilisation to make a surprise attack, Senator Brien McMahon told the Senate today. Senator McMahon (Democrat, Connecticut) is chairman of the Congres sional Atomic Energy Committee. He said the United States military authorities had “better be on the alert during the next 30 days, particularly during the Japanese peace treaty conference in San Francisco.”
