OBITUARY
MRS S. J. NOONAN
The death in Auckland of Mrs Sara Jane Noonan, at the age of 83, severs the final connexion with the group of seven New Zealand nurses who in March. 1900, sailed to serve in the Boer War. Mrs Noonan trained at the Dunedin Public Hospital and left New Zealand with the 4th Contingent.
A Military Medal presented to her by King George V and another presented by Queen Mary on their visit to New Zealand were treasured possessions. She was the elder daughter of the late Captain John and Mrs Ross, of Port Chalmers and Dunedin, and the widow of Dr. Patrick Noonan. There are two sons, two daughters, and two .grandchildren. Mrs L. H. McCalman, Beckenham, is a niece.
