LONDON, August 30. The West Indian batsman, E. Weekes, played a spectacular innings for the Commonwealth eleven against an English eleven in the match at Kingston-on-Thames to-day. He scored all round the wicket and dealt fearlessly with all types of bowling. The Commonwealth team declared its first innings closed with a lead of 152 runs. Scores were:— English eleven —First innings, 189. Second innings, one for 35.
